Missing the Bishops

What a shame that the Worldwide Anglican Cycle of Prayer now only includes the name of each diocese and not its bishop. Having a human name as well as a more-or-less unknown geographical area made the mention of the day's diocese at Morning Prayer a little more personal. It also used to provide us with all sorts of fun, after the following fashion:

1. Strangulated English attempts at pronunciation
2. Our ex-lay reader Lillian got the chance to show off by pronouncing any Tamil, southern Indian or Spanish names properly
3. Some of the bishops were inherently amusing to English ears. My favourite was the Archbishop of West Africa, His Grace Jonathan Bau Bau Bonaparte Hart. It was salutary to reflect that our names probably sounded just as amusing to people at Morning Prayer in Sierra Leone.
